Better yet, you’re collaborating among fellow Auburn student software engineers and learning from an experienced CTO in fully equipped facilities, all on a flexible schedule that accommodates your classes and studies.

That’s exactly what Room2Room Movers is offering the very best software engineering students at Auburn – provided you can make the grade.
Success Drives Growth
“Most people don’t associate moving companies with cutting edge software – our business model is a bit different. We’re leveraging technology to build a college moving platform that we believe will change the way college students move all across the country,” says Brooks Fuller, Room2Room Movers founder and CEO. “We’ve proven our model here at Auburn, successfully expanded to Ole Miss, and are now leveraging the lessons we’ve learned to build technology essential to our continued growth in the future.”
That’s where Room2Room’s call for the best student software engineers comes in.
“To the most talented Auburn students studying software engineering, this is your chance to step up and show us what you’ve got! We have three positions still open, all three of which to start at the beginning of 2026.”
The NVA sat down with Brooks and Room2Room’s CTO, Reid Watson, to hear exactly what they are looking for, what this promising opportunity can mean for the right candidates, and how students can apply.
NVA: You’ve built a business and a brand based on serving the moving and storage needs of students and their parents – what does technology have to do with all that?
Fuller: For us, it’s everything! In fact, our technology platform is the primary driver of a successful moving experience. From online scheduling and payments to tracking exact move times and locations – we have found that expanding and growing our proprietary technology platform will be instrumental going forward.
Just take a look at our website – you can book on the website, you can reschedule on the website, obviously you can call us, but we find that our success in building easy-to-use technology will not only support our robust growth but also can change the moving industry itself.
The Auburn software engineering interns that work with us now are a vital key to our success. But we need more – and soon.
That’s why we’re reaching out across campus to appeal to qualified students at Auburn looking for the most fulfilling internship they could ever imagine. It’s going to be competitive process to get one of those three slots.
NVA: As you make it known that R2R is searching for local Auburn University-based software engineering talent to join your team and help grow your brand to new college towns, what exactly are you looking for?
Watson: The specific requirements for these positions can be found on our Handshake posting, but in short, we are looking for software engineering students who want to build and ship meaningful technology while utilizing AI tools to enhance their development potential.
What’s more, at Room2Room Movers, you will be included in helping understand, shape and drive our entire business development, operations and support strategies. You’ll be at the table, in the room where critical needs are discussed, options considered and solutions pursued. You’ll learn and implement essential business skills that go beyond your own software development expertise to really see the key factors behind the work you are tasked to take on.
To us, there’s no better preparation for the real world.
NVA: What would you say to the very top software engineers at Auburn about why they should choose your internships over the many other opportunities they may have before them?
Fuller: I would simply say – come change the world with us! Take a look at what we have been doing and are planning to do moving forward. If this opportunity excites you – and you’re ready to embrace the startup grind and mindset we live by at Room2Room – you may be exactly who we’re looking for.
We’ll expect 15 to 30 hours of collaborative work per week. You will be included in planning and resource allocation meetings. Relied on for your input on features development, testing and implementation milestones.
Is that you?
Applications for these highly coveted positions – which cover the 2026 Spring and Summer semesters – are currently open, but they won’t be for long. Simply log into Auburn University’s Handshake listing for how to apply. Qualified applicants will be invited for in person interviews before the conclusion of the Fall 2025 semester.
